The Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) is a minimally invasive hip replacement technique where the surgeon accesses the joint from the front without cutting through major muscles.
Unlike the traditional posterior approach, DAA allows for faster recovery, less post-operative pain, and fewer movement restrictions. Many patients are able to walk the same day after surgery, enjoy a shorter hospital stay, and return to daily activities with greater confidence. This technique also offers better implant stability and a lower risk of dislocation, making it an ideal choice for patients who want to regain mobility quickly and safely.
Keyhole knee surgery (arthroscopy) is a modern, minimally invasive alternative to traditional open surgery. Using a tiny camera and precision instruments inserted through small incisions, it allows surgeons to accurately diagnose and repair issues like meniscus tears, cartilage damage, and ligament injuries—without cutting through major tissue.
Unlike open surgery, which involves large incisions, longer downtime, and more post-op pain, keyhole surgery offers faster recovery, less scarring, lower risk of complications, and a quicker return to daily activities. Many patients walk the same day and resume light movement within weeks.
Oxford Partial Knee Replacement (UKA)
Oxford Partial Knee Replacement (UKA) is a minimally invasive alternative to total knee replacement, ideal for patients with arthritis limited to the inner (medial) part of the knee.
Unlike total knee surgery, which removes all joint surfaces and often sacrifices key stabilising ligaments, UKA preserves healthy bone, cartilage, and ligaments, resulting in a more natural-feeling, stable knee. The incision is smaller, recovery is faster, and most patients walk on the same day. With less pain, quicker return to daily life, and a smaller, more discreet scar, Oxford UKA offers effective long-term results without the trauma of full joint replacement.
Minimally Invasive Bunion and Hammer Toe Surgery offers a modern solution for painful foot deformities without the trauma of traditional open surgery. Using tiny “keyhole” incisions, this technique corrects bunions and curled toes with minimal scarring, reduced pain, and faster recovery, so you can get back on your feet sooner.
Unlike conventional methods, MIS preserves healthy tissue and avoids large wounds, making it ideal for earlier-stage deformities. Patients often walk the same day and return to normal footwear and activities in weeks, not months. If bunions or hammer toes are limiting your lifestyle, early diagnosis and MIS treatment can prevent further joint damage and restore comfort and mobility.
Minimally Invasive Ankle Ligament Reconstruction is a modern surgical technique designed to treat chronic ankle instability using small incisions instead of the larger cuts required in traditional open surgery.
The 1 cm “Lasso” technique developed by Dr James Wee allows for effective ligament repair with reduced disruption to surrounding tissues. Compared to open reconstruction, patients typically experience less post-operative pain and swelling, lower risk of wound complications, faster recovery, and smaller, less noticeable scars. It is suitable for individuals with recurrent ankle sprains, ligament injuries, or conditions causing ligament laxity who have not responded to conservative treatments.
Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) offers significant benefits compared to open surgery. Unlike traditional open surgeries that require large incisions and extensive tissue disruption, Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) utilises specialised tools and techniques to access the knee through small incisions.

Relieve pain and improve quality of life with minimally invasive treatments.
If you are unsure about your treatment options, book a consultation to get expert advice tailored to your condition.
If you are experiencing ongoing foot pain or ankle pain that affects your daily activities or mobility, it is advisable to consult a foot and ankle specialist. These symptoms may indicate underlying conditions such as ligament injuries, tendon damage, or joint degeneration that require professional assessment.
You should consider seeing an orthopaedic specialist if the pain does not improve with rest, is recurring, or is accompanied by swelling, stiffness, or instability. This is particularly important if you have had previous injuries or difficulty walking.
Treatment depends on the cause and severity of the condition. Options include physiotherapy, custom orthotics, medications, injections such as autologous plasma therapy, and surgical interventions like ankle ligament reconstruction or keyhole knee surgery when necessary.
Minimally invasive surgery involves performing procedures through small incisions using specialised instruments. Compared to open surgery, MIS typically results in less pain, reduced soft tissue damage, smaller scars, faster recovery, and a lower risk of complications.
Surgery is not always required. Many lower limb issues can be managed with conservative treatments such as physical therapy, activity modification, and medication. Surgery is recommended when these measures are ineffective or if the condition significantly impairs function.
Yes. We manage a wide range of sports injuries including ankle sprains, ligament tears, cartilage damage, and overuse injuries. A personalised treatment plan will be developed to help you return to your desired level of activity safely.
During your consultation, our specialist will take a detailed history, conduct a physical examination, and may order imaging such as X-rays or MRI scans. Based on the findings, a customised treatment plan will be recommended.
Most medically necessary procedures, including ankle ligament reconstruction, bunion correction, and fracture treatment, are typically covered by MediSave and insurance. Cosmetic procedures are not claimable. Our staff can assist with the claims process and provide guidance on coverage.
